PTO

PTO is a group of parent volunteers who combine manpower and money from fundraisers to assist St Joseph’s teachers and administration in acquiring the resources they need to make St Joseph’s School the best school for your child to attend.  As a parent of a St. Joseph student, the PTO is YOUR organization.  It is how you can get involved in your child’s education, know more about what goes on behind the scenes at St Joseph’s school, and have a say in how the money we raise is spent.  We hope that each one of you will find a way to participate in the PTO throughout the year in large or small contributions of your time to the various fundraisers we host.

You may have already seen sign up sheets at various parent meetings.  These sheets let us know that you have an interest in chairing or helping with a particular fundraiser and that we can contact you to make more concrete arrangements for your involvement.  If you have questions or concerns about what you are signing up for, or if there is anything you would like to do to help, feel free to contact a PTO officer.  You will be glad to know that any help you provide in these fundraisers “Counts” towards your 20 service hours.

Remember, The Parent Teacher Organization is YOUR organization.  It is not a secret club or a group of one or two parents who do everything.  We will be as strong or as weak as our volunteers, and we will need the help of many people to be success. We are looking forward to meeting each one of you and working with you throughout the year as we ensure the intellectual and spiritual enrichment of our kids, and to secure the future of our Parish School.

PTO Fundraising Events

PTO Program Dinners

  • Before each PTO meeting, we will assign a grade or two to host a dinner.  Volunteer parents in these grades will donate food and cooking to prepare a meal for anyone who would like to eat dinner at St Joseph’s before the meeting.
  • Dinners are offered at a reasonable cost
  • Eating at a PTO dinner frees you from having to cook on a busy night
  • Enables you to socialize with other parents in the school
  • All proceeds benefit PTO

BoxTops Collection

  • BoxTops are collected all year long. For each 25 boxtops that are brought in during a one-month period, a child can earn a choice of dress (a pre-selected day on the school calendar).

Market Day

  • We send out fliers in the Friday folders that show you all the delicious food offerings that Market Day (a fundraising company) provides. You can place orders online and pickup on the assigned Markeet Day at school.
  • You order any foods that you would like and pick them up in the cafeteria on “Market Day”
  • PTO receives a percentage of the proceeds
  • Purchasing food supports the school
  • You can volunteer to help in the cafeteria on Market Day
  • Help promote Market Day to your friends and family

Santa Shoppe, Mother and Father's Day Shop

  • This fundraiser allows all children to do some Christmas shopping for family members.
  • Donate items which would be inexpensive and particular to mothers and fathers (especially fathers)
  • Help out with the operation of the stores (cashiers, gift-wrap, and assisting young shoppers)
  • Send a few dollars with your child to shop on the days the store is offered.
